The Knotty Ones
Nida Cotton Sweater | Black
Nida is a tranquil fishing village on the beautiful Curonian Spit on the Lithuanian coast. Peacefully breezy, soul-soothing and filled with a heavy dose of dramatic young love. Need we say more? It's perfect, just as this oversized knit with prolonged sleeves.
- When choosing a size, keep in mind that Nida's rather wide and oversized. Size down if you're in doubt.
- 100% OEKO-TEX certified, Fair Trade Egyptian cotton. Store folded (your mom will be proud) and dry clean only.
About The Knotty Ones: Over here at THE KNOTTY ONES, we believe in a close-knit sisterhood. We employ female artisans in rural Lithuania to produce all of our knits, giving them a living wage, financial independence and a voice in their households and communities. We also take sustainability pretty seriously. Our female-founded partner factories as well as individually hired artisans use 100% biodegradable yarns, which are not only great for your wardrobe, but also for the plant. The Knotty Ones was founded by three best friends — Sandra, Danute and Akvile — who believed that it’s nice to be cool, but it’s cooler to be nice. The three, like many of us, spent their early twenties chasing latest fashion trends and fads. This quickly started to change back in 2014 as they took time off to travel around South East Asia where they learned about the dark side of the fast fashion industry. Back in Europe — after not being able to find a knit that was sustainable, had a contemporary feel and empowered people making it — they set out to create one themselves. Today, based between Brooklyn, New York, and Vilnius, Lithuania, the three young women are in pursuit of changing the industry one knit at a time.
