Two part workshop with woodworker Alex Brechbill. Please choose to either sign up for only Part 1 of the workshop where you'll learn the basics of greenworking or sign up for Part 1 + 2 where you'll learn the basics and then put what you learned into practice.

Intro to Greenwoodworking (Part 1; 1.5 hours - 5:30-7:00 PM)
In the first part of the workshop, students will be taught essential carving techniques using a basic carving knife (Mora 106). Students will become familiar with a basic carving knife, safe carving techniques, and the fundamentals of working with green wood (opposed to kiln-dried wood). At the conclusion of part one, you will have the skills to carve jam spreaders and spoons. Whether you are an experienced woodworker or just starting on your woodworking journey, there is a place in the workshop for you. Note that this workshop requires a moderate amount of hand strength, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina.

Carve a Jam Spreader (Part 2; 1.5 hours - 7:00-8:30 PM)
As an optional continuation of the workshop, participants will work to carve a jam spreader, with the goal to leave the workshop with a handmade product. The jam spreader is an outstanding introductory project into greeenwoodworking, and it is also a functional utensil that can be used for years in your kitchen.
Instructor will provide all the tools and materials. Please wear closed toed shoes.
